The parking area is just south of the nursing home and is well marked. The lake area is home to resident otter, barred owls, and coyote, and is surrounded by laurel and hemlock. The park is over 700 acres in size. The State of New York is in the process of creating new marked trails which will make it easier to navigate through the park.
